Discovery
Two separate discovery choices
Choose whether people can find you by your exact username or phone number. Contacts access does not turn on discovery.
Blocking
A boundary for direct contact
Blocking stops new direct messages, calls and discovery. Shared-group messages still follow group membership.

Manage read receipts and activity sharing. With Assist, only the content and task you choose are sent to OpenAI.

Do I need a phone number?
Yes. ChatShyld uses your phone number and a verification code to sign you in. A username is optional.
Do I have to share my contacts?
No. Contacts access is optional. You can also look for someone by their full @username if they have enabled username discovery.
Are chats end-to-end encrypted?
No. ChatShyld uses encrypted connections, encrypted storage and access controls, but it is not end-to-end encrypted. Authorised server processing remains possible. Read our Privacy Policy for details.
What does Assist receive?
The text and message excerpts you choose to share, together with your selected task. Your full chat history is not sent automatically. You review the result and decide whether to use it in a message.
Where can I download ChatShyld?
Visit Downloads for the available options for your device. Public availability can vary by platform and country.
How do I delete my account?
Open Settings → Account → Delete account. Review the request, verify your registered number and confirm. See Account Deletion for the process, retention limits and help if you cannot use the app.
